The file `OpenSourceDevWithCVS_2E.pdf' contains the entire 2nd edition
of "Open Source Development With CVS" by Karl Fogel and Moshe Bar. I
believe the PDF file is complete and requires no supporting files.

All editions of "Open Source Development With CVS" are now available

details.

Historical notes:

When this book was originally published in 1999, only the CVS-specific
chapters (2, 4, 6, 8, 9, and 10) were licensed under the GPL. This
was the result of a compromise with the original publisher, Coriolis.
Coriolis was willing to try a free license for some of the book, but
not for all of it. So I agreed to a traditional, exclusive printing
contract for the non-CVS portions, in order to get it published.

That contract with Coriolis has long since lapsed, and I am very
pleased to be able to put the entire book under the GPL now.

I have always retained copyright on the entire book, despite
Coriolis's mistakenly listing themselves as the copyright holders in
some printings. I have a letter somewhere from them acknowledging the
mistake and confirming that I have the copyright. But I don't want an
exclusive right -- I want everyone to have the same rights I do, so I
encourage you to download this book and share it with your friends.

Many thanks to Sharon Linsenbach of Paraglyph Press, which acquired
the PDF files from Coriolis. Sharon and Paraglyph did not hesitate an
instant when I told them the book was now under the GPL -- they
continued with their plans to offer a printed version, and they
immediately sent me all the PDF files they were working from, well
aware that I would put them online to be downloaded by anyone.

The full set of PDF files they sent me is available at

  http://cvsbook.red-bean.com/OpenSourceDevWithCVS_2E-publishers-files.tar.gz

That contains, I think, the cover images, various .eps files, and
other supporting flotsam and jetsam. But you probably don't need any
of it; the one file here (OpenSourceDevWithCVS_2E.pdf) is the entire
book, and has all necessary images internally. I'm offering the
"publisher's files set" only in case someone out there knows what to
do with it.
